School Leaders, The Governor and the Superintendent of Public Instruction both have initiatives providing support to students and staff during COVID-19 to access remote learning. Through CARES Act funds the Governor is funding the purchase of devices for student use. If extra funds are available, the funds can be used to support staff that need a device. In addition, the Superintendent of Public Instruction through CARES Act and ESSER funds is also funding the opportunity for families who were not connected to the internet to gain access. Families would work with a specified provider to get access to the internet. These providers have agreed to a rate that would be paid by OSPI. These families must meet Free and Reduced Lunch or Low Income Criteria to be eligible. I have been asked by an aide from the Governor’s Office to submit a proposal on our behalf. Please take a few minutes to respond to this SURVEY by noon on Wednesday November 18, 2020. If I do not have a response I will assume you do not want to participate. More information will be coming if we in fact will be granted access to these opportunities.
