As we approach the Season of Advent, how can we turn to our Catholic identity for spiritual renewal? Available on demand, a retreat experience with speakers and built-in reflection times.  Brought to us by faculty members of Seattle University and Xavier University.

Here are some ideas to share with people who want to give back to their parishes and communities this Advent season:

  • Call the homebound in your parish community.
  • Send Christmas cards to people in prison.
  • Create “ditty bags” for the Seafarers Ministry.
  • Find opportunities in your county through the Catholic Community Services
    Volunteer Portal.
  • Sign up to receive weekly Advent inspirations from Northwest Catholic.
  • Join the Ignatian Solidarity Network’s Advent Simplicity Challenge.
  • Volunteer with your local St. Vincent de Paul ministry or donate to their food bank.
  • Participate in your parish Giving Tree.
  • Pray for those who are alone this Advent season.
