October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. Check out this page from the International Dyslexia Association for inspiring stories of people living with dyslexia.

The Early Screening of Dyslexia bulletin is live on the OSPI website and can be found at this link: OSPI Early Screening of Dyslexia Bulletin (www.k12.wa.us)  The bulletin outlines expectations, guidelines, and best practices associated with implementing the early screening of dyslexia and Senate Bill 6162. (The mandate is for school districts – not private schools) Also in the document is a host of resources to help support implementation and ensure that families, students, schools, and districts have access to materials and supports needed for implementation.

One instructional partner that is working with many of our schools is ARK Insititute of Learning. ARK provides comprehensive educational evaluations, early screening for dyslexia, and specialized, individualized instruction.
