If we ignore their cries for help\, we will be continuing to participate in the anguish from which those cries for help come. A problem of this magnitude will not go away. Because it will not go away\, and because of our spiritual commitments\, we are compelled to take action. DESCRIPTION:Please join the Mental Health Ministry Committee and the Office for Catholic Schools for a meeting with our school counselors. \n\nWHEN: Friday\, March 15\, 2019\nTIME: 9 AM – 2:30 PM\nWHERE: Isaac Orr Conference Room\, The Chancery\, 910 Marion St. Seattle\, WA 98104\nATTENDEES: Archdiocese of Seattle Catholic High School and Elementary Schools Counselors\, Diversified Learners Committee\, Archdiocese of Seattle Mental Health Committee\n\nPURPOSE FOR THE MEETING: \nConvene school personnel responsible for the social-emotional-behavior health of students in the Archdiocese of Seattle Catholic Schools to strengthen the network of support for the students’ mental health challenges and share regional resources. \nGOALS \n\nTo become more knowledgeable about Social-Emotional Learning programs for elementary\, middle and high school students.\nTo become a stronger advocate for SEL resources in your school.\nTo serve as a resource for others on various ways schools implement SEL programming and other programs for dealing with self-harming behaviors.\nTo strengthen the professional network among counselors and identify resources in each region of the Archdiocese.\n\nAGENDA for the DAY \n\n9:00 am – Welcome and Prayer\n9:15 am – Guest speaker – Kari O’Driscoll\, founder of the SELF Project\, author of The Self Project for Parents\, parent.\n10:00 am – Break\n10:20 am – Two models for implementing SEL programming\n12:00 pm – Lunch\n1-2:00 pm – Suicide prevention specific training\n2:00 pm – Next steps and Evaluation\n\nMorning snacks and lunch will be provided. \nPlease look for parking in the P1 garage below the Isaac Orr Conference Room.
