Data Analysts at Catholic Schools
Beginning in 2025, the Office for Catholic Schools is requesting that all schools identify at least one “data analyst” or data leader in their school for the purpose of using NWEA MAP data effectively. In partnership with NWEA, the OCS will be providing on-going trainings for data analysts throughout the Fall of 2025, as well as providing schools with more opportunities to showcase their students’ growth and academic achievement through targeted professional development and intentional regional collaboration.
All data analysts are required to attend a two-session training in the Fall with NWEA professional learning specialist, Tom Terlep on the following days:
Part I: Training Data Analysts on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 – register here.
Part II: Deciphering Data from Fall MAP Testing on Thursday, October 16th 2025 – register here.
Both trainings will be at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Tukwila, WA and each one will have a session taking place from 8:30-11:30am and then again from 12:00-3:00pm. The sessions will be identical – attendees will only have to attend one session either in the AM or PM but they must attend a session on each day (9/23 and 10/16). Clock hours will be provided to participants. Each school is encouraged to send two participants to the trainings which will help with collaboration and support.
Registration is required – see links above.
Furthermore, Katie Doyle, NWEA Catholic Schools specialist, will be holding three online training sessions for all teachers and administrators to answer questions about testing reports after each testing session throughout the school year. These online trainings will take place on:
- October 8th – 3:30-4:30pm
- February 25th – 3:30-4:30pm
- June 3rd – 3:30-4:30pm
Clock hours will be provided for those attending synchronously. Recordings and resources will be available for these sessions.
