Some textbooks receive an “Imprimatur“. An Imprimatur is an official license by the Roman Catholic Church to affirm that an ecclesiastical or religious book is in good standing – it is a stamp or guarantee that something is in a good standing. Right now, an example of an imprimatur at the high school level for religion textbooks is, ProLife Curriculum: Principles and Choices (Grades 9 – 12) and the imprimatur is from Archbishop Sartain. (The imprimatur is located in the front of a religion textbook included with the publishing information). Some of our formation resources have been lifted up by Archbishop Etienne for your considerations. The Sacred Story Institute, Founder Rev. William Watson, has received formal endorsement from Archbishop Etienne. Please see letter: Archbishop Paul D. Etienne DD STL -Endorsement of Sacred Story Institute 10-17-19 heartily supporting the work of the Missionary Discipleship Formation through the Sacred Story Institute.
