News from AIDNW: Serving immigrant detainees in Tacoma
There has been a large increase in the numbers of guests released from detention and seeking our hospitality. Both the Welcome Center and Hospitality House are being stretched to new levels. As a result, this update comes with an urgent plea for donations and financial support. We are experiencing what’s recently been reported in the news. Detainees are being released in larger numbers and they are left to their own recognizance. Fortunately, we are here to help but we need more resources to carry out our mission.
- Bilingual visitation volunteers – visit detainees at detention center
- Transportation volunteers – Take our guest from hospitality house to various appointments
- Fundraising volunteers and committee members – Help with organizing events
- Speakers Bureau – Share your talent by speaking at event
See www.aidnw.org for more information on programs
- BBQ Grill – slightly used, free-standing gas or charcoal
- Safeway Gift Cards
- International Calling cards
- Sectional couch
- 1 TV-2 roku boxes
- Cereal bowls
- Twin size sheets-white preferred
- Twin size comforters
- Women’s tshirts small and medium
- Women’s capris small and medium
