Looking for Service Hours? Special Olympics Washington Spring Events!

Dear friends of Special Olympics Washington –

Following a long, two years of virtual competitions, our athletes are so excited to be back to in-person practices and competitions!  This Spring season is our first complete season since Winter 2020 and we’re dusting off the equipment, and the cobwebs, and planning for regional and state competitions.  Spring sports include Athletics (track & field), Swimming, Soccer, Cycling and Power Lifting.

These athletes need your help and support.  For a variety of reasons, registrations have only been trickling in and our events (and athletes) will suffer greatly if we’re not able to secure more volunteers.  Please consider registering to help at a regional competition in the next few weeks as well as State Games in June.  This would be a great opportunity for families to volunteer together or for high-schoolers to get their service hours in – the minimum age to volunteer is 11 (youth ages 11-13 must volunteer with an adult), and teens ages 14-17 may volunteer on their own but in select roles.

Please check your calendars and pre-register online at the following events:

Some of the registration pages are still under construction as plans and details are still being finalized.  If that’s the case for the event/venue you’re looking for, please keep checking back.

Thank you in advance for your support of our athletes!  They deserve a quality competition and we certainly can’t do it without our amazing volunteers!  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Take care,

Susan Greenwood
