To celebrate the efforts of our Care Heroes in promoting the health and wellness of their communities, here are some reflections on the impact of their partnership with Care Solace:
“Care Solace has been a wonderful resource for our families who need mental health care support. The process of finding a therapist or counselor that is taking new patients, takes your insurance, and serves children or adolescents can be so daunting that it represents an insurmountable barrier to accessing services for most families. Care Solace has provided a lifeline to many of our families for services they otherwise would be unable to receive because often in times of crisis families do not have the bandwidth or experience to take on this search process on their own.”
-Nancy Nelson, Counselor-St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School
“We have referred students and families to many facilities over the years and the wait list has been extremely long. This has meant that as a staff with no counselor, we are attempting to support students with, oftentimes, seriously distressful emotional health situations. Care Solace has made this process SO much easier. I also love that Spanish is an option and that they are able to work with families to set up care via text messages.”
-Rachel Garcia, Principal-Holy Family Bilingual Catholic School
“Care Solace allows us to quickly connect families to mental health services. Finding a provider with availability is challenging and is often a barrier to getting care. Care Solace removes that burden, giving families a little room to breathe during what is already a stressful time. Care Solace helps us live out the mission of Catholic education by providing compassionate support to students and families in times of need. Offering this service reflects our commitment to the well-being of our community and the values at the heart of our Catholic identity.”
-Kaitlyn Overman, Counselor-Bishop Blanchet High School
“Collaborating with Care Solace provides St. George Parish School an exceptional resource for children and families, most especially during challenges that affect a family’s social emotional health. When I instigate a warm hand-off, our parents get an immediate response in finding counselors and therapist when on their own they may have to wait several months to get a connection. We are called to serve the whole child and their family, and Care Solace offers us an avenue to do just that.”
-Monica Wingard, Principal-St. George Parish School
“Care Solace has had a great impact on our school community by streamlining access to mental health care. The service has provided an efficient and seamless connection to local providers, making it easier for families to find the support they need in a timely manner. In short, Care Solace has been invaluable in helping us live out the mission of Catholic education by ensuring that all our students and families receive the care they need.”
-Chloe Shaw, Counselor-St. John Catholic School
“Having access to Care Solace has taken tremendous stress and worry off of families looking for care. The fact that someone will talk with parents, ask about what they’re looking for and what they can pay, and then help to find a provider that meets their criteria is huge! One of the barriers to getting access to care is that people don’t know who to call or they don’t have the time to do all of the leg work. And the Care Solace team members are great communicators, staying in touch with the school as appropriate and needed.”
-Anna Horton, Principal-Holy Rosary School (Seattle)
