Wednesday, August 19 – 7:00-8:00 PM Eastern – Cultivating Community in the Classroom When Distance is the Norm Notre Dame ACE 19 graduate, Emily Ice, will share resources and routines to keep one of the staples of Catholic education—community—alive and well despite the challenges posed by social distancing and virtual learning. Thursday, August 20 – 11:00 AM Pacific Time – Teach to Reach Every Reader – Motivating students through differentiated instruction with Dr. Rhonda Bondie. Join Newsela’s co-founder and Chief Academic Officer, Dan Cogan-Drew, and Director of Professional Learning at Harvard Graduate School of Education, Dr. Rhonda Bondie, for a conversation on differentiated instruction. Goals: 1. Understand how motivation and self-regulated learning intersect with culturally relevant pedagogy and differentiated instruction, 2. - Conducting evaluations and ensuring you have procedures for Child Find in remote & hybrid situations (K-12)

August 21- 22 – 5th Annual Pathways to Hope Conference (Virtual) – NAMI San Antonio Pathways to Hope is a free (VIRTUAL) conference bringing together mental health professionals, social workers, educators, the judicial system, law enforcement, faith community leaders, caregivers, and individuals living with a diagnosis to help improve the mental health care system. Wednesday, August 26 – 7:00-8:00 PM Eastern – Fostering Students’ Resilience in Traumatic Times Notre Dame ACE 8 graduate, Jessica Gray Werner, will discuss the importance of prioritizing students’ social-emotional learning, focusing especially on how teachers might help to develop students’ resiliency. Following a brief presentation, participants will have the opportunity to discuss how these strategies can be easily implemented and adapted for their own schools to help meet students where they are academically and emotionally during this difficult time.
