Bishop Blanchet’s Annual STEM Day

Calling all students!

Bishop Blanchet’s FIRST Robotics Team is hosting its annual STEM day on 6th Nov.  This year’s events will be a Pinewood Derby and a Drone Race!  For the Pinewood Derby, swing by Blanchet to pickup a kit between now and Oct 26th!  Build your car and then return it to Blanchet between Oct 26th and 31st and see how you do when we stream the race to our YouTube channel.  We’ll be awarding the fastest, best design/appearance, and the audience choice voted on during the stream.

If you’d rather strap into the pilot’s seat of a mini racing quad then the Drone Race is for you!  We’ll have a drone, goggles, and controller ready, giving you the chance to navigate a series of illuminated gates and set the fastest time.  Think you have what it takes to take home the trophy?  No experience needed cause we’ll teach you how to fly!

There will be a $20 entry fee whether you enter one or both events with all entrants taking home a t-shirt and all other proceeds going towards supporting Blanchet’s Robotics Team’s upcoming season.

*Please note the drone race will be held in person at Blanchet, so all students will be required to wear a mask and show either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test result within 72hrs of 6 Nov.

 

Bishop Blanchet Middle School Speech/Debate Tournament

Bishop Blanchet High School will be hosting its annual Middle School speech and debate tournament virtually on Saturday December 11th, 2021. We will be offering seven speech events including humorous, dramatic, and duo interpretation, impromptu, expository, editorial commentary, and story book reading. If you would like to register, please do so at tabroom.com. We are excited to be able to host this tournament virtually for all our Catholic middle schools and we look forward to the competition!
