We are blessed to welcome Sr. Kate O’Leary as our retreat leader at Seabeck for formation in the fourth task of catechesis: teaching prayer.  Sr. Kate is a Franciscan of the Eucharist of Chicago and she has been serving on the West Side of Chicago since 2009 and took her Final Vows in 2015. Before becoming a sister, she worked as a surgical/trauma ICU nurse at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL. As a Franciscan, besides living in the House of The Lord, Sr. Kate finds the most joy in serving the poor and helping form the younger members of her community. Throughout her entire life, the Catholic Faith was always a central focal point. She received 12 years of Catholic Education and is grateful for all the formation and virtue learned. Admittedly, though, it was only recently that she grew in an understanding of a personal relationship with Christ. This invitation to friendship – with God who loves and sustains us – was deeply transformative. Sr. Kate is excited to share part of this finding with you all at Seabeck and will not be able to exhaust the topic of prayer.
