Missions Office: Entering Holy Week 2019

The Lenten season is about to end, and with it this year’s Rice Bowl program!

Thank you for your continued commitment to serve as Rice Bowl coordinator to your community–for their benefit and in solidarity with those on the margins. Below are several items of interest as we prepare to wrap up Lent and celebrate the risen Christ. (And of course, CRS resources are in Spanish and English.)

Simple Ways Rice Bowl enhances Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter, please visit http://www.crsricebowl.org/holy-week/

  1. As we move into Holy Week and Easter, bring Rice Bowl into your community with Stations of the Cross [r20.rs6.net] and Seven Sorrows of Mary [r20.rs6.net].
  2. Share how the 25% of Rice Bowl funds that remain in this archdiocese are used in or near your community. Rice Bowl grant recipients are listed on our website here [r20.rs6.net]. (And that’s where parishes and schools can find our Rice Bowl grant application materials!)
  3. Plan a fun and meaningful Rice Bowl collection ritual. Consider using this Offertory Prayer to End Your Lenten Journey [r20.rs6.net] (en Español [r20.rs6.net]), and use these Steps to Success [r20.rs6.net] (en Español [r20.rs6.net]) as a guide. For more ideas on how to collect Rice Bowls, watch this How to Collect CRS Rice Bowls [r20.rs6.net] video (en Español [r20.rs6.net]).

Where to Send Funds

Funds raised by your parish/school community should be remitted (after Easter) to us here at the Missions Office directly (not to CRS). Make checks payable to CCAS, with “Rice Bowl” in the memo, and send to:

Missions Office
Archdiocese of Seattle
710 9th Avenue
Seattle, WA 98104

Thank you!
